The Week of March 2nd is Dr Seuss Week... and his birthday is on March 2nd! It's time for lots of rhyming, colorful crafts & a Birthday Party! Yay!!!
Do you have a favorite Dr Seuss book from when you were child? I've been trying to think about which one was my favorite and I have to say I think it was "The Cat in the Hat" - I loved Thing One and Thing Two!
I asked Hailey and she said hers was The Foot Book. On this post you will find some FUN ideas I found online (yep - Pinterest) as well as a FEW of my other Favorite Homeschool Bloggers websites. Feel free to use this list to plan your own FUN & exciting Dr Seuss Week!
A Colorful Project (discuss the colors Red & White). (original idea from The Mailbox)
You will need:
- a copy of the cat pattern (cat and tie)
- 9x12 piece of construction paper
- red/white construction paper scraps
- crayons & glue sticks
Encourage your 3-5 year old preschoolers to help tear the paper scraps which will help with hand coordination and fine motor skills. Younger children you may want to have everything cut out - unless you have one that enjoys cutting & tearing & has a good attention span. =D
Create Thing 1 and Thing 2 shirts - here is one from Amazon - but I've also seen them on tank tops, long sleeve shirts and more. You could even make up your own using those printable fabric iron on sheets. =D This would be darling for a family - thing one, thing 2, thing 3 - mom thing & dad thing!
